We are pleased to introduce our new packaging.

We were looking for a box that felt singular and thoughtful, with a touch of design, born of a partnership that connects with us in some way. We set out to find a company that could arrive at something more than a commercial coffee package, a partner able to collaborate with us artistically, imprinting it with a human and genuine essence.

We were fortunate to find Papelaria in Brazil, a company that is not only a design firm but also a team of great sensibility. Papelaria is a design studio founded by Fabíola and Christian Pentagna, who propose a singular experience with paper. Always used as a base and support for a range of objects, paper reveals its countless transformations through cuts, folds, and colors.

For the packaging, we were inspired by the dimensions of the innovative box made by our longtime friends La Cabra. The choice of tracing paper was a small tribute to Acervo's beginnings, when we used this very paper for our menu. Because it is translucent, the name of the coffee can be seen through the paper, and this holds meaning for us, for we believe in what is not obvious. Life tends toward the obvious, and against that, we like people to pause, to look, and to find. Beyond this, transparency represents to us the importance of this quality in the world of specialty coffee: transparency with producers, with the entire process, and with the consumer. When we place one box beside another, or when we open the sleeve of the packages, we notice that the folds form mountains, their peaks and contours evoking our beloved coffees from Espírito Santo.

To define the cutting and the fold lines, a machine was used; the rest of the process, such as the folding, was done by hand, in an artisanal and singular way. We know that handwork of this kind helps create jobs and honors the craft of many people, and we value that greatly. In choosing paper as the primary material for the packaging, we take a chance on the unpredictability of something natural. We are ever closer to achieving fully sustainable packaging, so the choice of paper was essential.

I will touch your heart is a slogan by Papelaria, and it is what you read as you open our box. The idea is that, upon opening our coffee, you would feel exactly this: life is short, and we need to consume and experience things that touch our heart every day.
